Shelly Raine

Last night I had the good fortune of photographing the lovely Shelly Raine. She’s an up-and-coming singer/songwriter. My husband has done some drumming for some of her tracks, and I decided to put my self out there and propose taking pictures for her, if she needed it.

So, we met up downtown, and with the help of my Assistant Creative Director, Danielle, we started shooting. Three hours, 420 shots, and about fifty cat-calls later, we called it a night. I only mention the cat-calls because we seriously heard dozens. But, I don’t blame those men. Shelly is gorgeous.

Anyway, long story slightly less long, I tried (twice) to make a slideshow of some of my favorite images, but my computer completely crapped out both times. I’m now in my second attempt at a Facebook album to link to; we’ll see how it goes. I may still be able to make a slideshow on Jake’s computer, however. So I’ll update as necessary. In the meantime, here are just a handful of my favorites:

Other note-worthy moments of the shoot:

* There was a lady walking a little, fluffy white dog and we asked if we could borrow the dog for two seconds while we took some pictures. Her first reaction: skeptical. Second reaction: “How much money are you going to pay me?” She was serious. And she wants a print mailed to her.

* We found a cool wall in a clothing store made up of thousands of paper clips. We used it as backdrop, and the owner even let Shelly stand on the counter.

* There is a very cool, but slightly scary alley we used. There was a bicycle in it, so Shelly rode it around the parking lot a few times.
